Work Day in Kokomo

By September 3, 2013No Comments

Kokomo Work DayOn Saurday, August 24th, the Kokomo Crossing had an incredible work day! With the help of Huston Electric and BMO Harris Bank, we received new signs for outside of our school and started our kitchen renovation project! Due to a generous donation by Huston Electric, Merrell Brothers, and BMO Harris, and through the work of the Kokomo Crossing Board, we will receive new appliances for our kitchen! We also received tile donated from Hostetler Flooring to finish the kitchen flooring, and Advantage Housing is donating the labor to install the flooring. A video was also created that day to enter the Crossing into a Super Service Challenge with CWAM (Companies with a Mission) for a chance to win money for our school! Please pray for us as we enter that video contest, the winners get to receive the award at the Super Bowl! Thanks, Ms. Querry and our Kokomo Board, for an incredible day! We accomplished so much with our staff, kids, volunteers and board members! · We set up and worked in the Farmer’s Market Booth · Our board printed and provided new banners for the booth · Removed carpet, cabinets, countertops, shelving and appliances from kitchen. · Scraped glue off tile from old carpet · Harvested peppers from garden · Cut & dehydrated peppers from garden for spices sold by students · Peeled peaches for jam · Began painting cabinets · Huston Electric installed three new signs on the building ]]>
