Meet Our Regional Director – Cedrick Mgwaba

By February 5, 2018No Comments

Cedrick Mgwaba! I am a South African living in the United States. I grew up in a very dysfunctional family in South Africa. I had no mother or father but was raised by a struggling community and walked 10 miles per day to go to school. After finishing high school, I joined Youth with A Mission (YWAM) which started my spiritual journey with God. Now, I am married to my lovely wife Cherie and we have been blessed with three daughters. I love reaching kids who don’t go to church or have any background within the church.  The best part of my job at the Crossing is that I get to live life with them outside of school. I love Inviting them to my house to play video games while enjoying good food. The commission is clear, “Go ye therefore and make disciples of all nations,” (Matt 28:19). I am convinced that The Crossing is modeling the great commission well. I was once lost and didn’t like the church. It was programs outside of the church that helped me to be the man I am today. I want to do the same for any kid that I find in the street or is struggling through life’s many obstacles. Working at The Crossing has challenged how I look at and interact with people who are different from me. It has helped me to be broken for the poor, homeless, imprisoned, sick, depressed, and rejected. Being raised by a community, it is the job of the community to help those who are struggling.]]>
