Dear Parents, Students, and Crossing Family,

Thank you for partnering with us to launch a successful week of E-Learning during our last week of school prior to spring break!  We are providing this update to support your child and family as we understand that there is a great deal of uncertainty right now.

As you know, we are now on Spring Break until April 13th at which point we will resume E-Learning with your child.  Why E-Learning? As many of you know, Governor Holcomb issued an executive order to close Indiana’s school buildings until May 1st.  As a result, the Crossing will continue with E-Learning beginning on April 13th through May 1st.

We understand that this style of learning is all new to our students, your family and our teachers.  As we prepare the coming weeks for E-Learning, there are a couple of things you can do that would greatly benefit your student and your family:

  1. Please work hard to secure an internet connection.  Many companies are offering free internet services for the next several months.  Check out our website, crossingeducation.com in the coming days where we will post resources.
  2. Please secure a device for your student to use. You may not have a computer or tablet personally, but we would ask that you do everything you can to borrow or purchase a device prior to April 13th.  We are also working hard to gather devices to distribute to students in need.

In addition, we have an incredible resource called RightNowMedia.org.  This is a platform with 20,000 awesome videos that you and your family have access to through the Crossing that includes Faith, leadership, family, Bible, finance, etc. Please reach out to your location staff for access. We will provide a user account for you and your student.  This is a great way to spend time over Spring Break and during this quarantine.

We also encourage you to monitor local resources for food and other services you may need at this time.  If you are unable to secure needed resources for your family, please contact your local staff and they will do their best to serve you.  You may also call our corporate office at 574-226-0671.

We understand that many of you have questions about seniors and graduates.  The Indiana Department of Education and the Governor’s office are working on plans for seniors.  We will continue to keep you updated with information as it becomes available.  We have been assured by our partners in state government that seniors will be taken care of and that they will have avenues to graduate on time.

Thank you for your continued patience as we work through uncharted territory together.  We are praying for you and we wish you a safe and enjoyable Spring Break. Stay in touch with us via all of our usual digital communication channels.  Call us, text us, email us, google chat with us, facebook message us, etc. We look forward to staying in touch with you in the coming days!

Sincerely,

Ryan Hill
