The last best chance

We call the Crossing an alternative high school like it exists in a different universe (and in many ways it does), but what people don’t often realize is that this alternate universe is grounded in strong relationships with public schools and their administrators. Because public school administrators care about these students and value them, they collaborate with the Crossing to keep them from falling through the cracks and into a life with few possibilities and little hope for the future. The Crossing is not the convenient rug to sweep these kids under. We are another connection to the educational system, “the last best chance”, to quote one administrator – with the emphasis on best.

A great example of this collaboration and how it is changing students’ lives is our newest campus in Noblesville, just outside of Indianapolis. This campus, which partners with eight sending schools and saw 75 students enroll in the first three months they were open, was recently profiled in the Hamilton County Business Magazine.
