Crossing Xtreme Program Click here to download our printable brochure Crossing Xtreme is designed for boys who need or desire a hands-on approach to learning. The core of this program is focused on Problem Based Learning (PBL) that ties classroom academics, real-world skill-sets, and outdoor service work.
Objective: Hands-on experience and research have both demonstrated that there is a need for alternative education beyond computers, classrooms, and academic instruction. In response to this need, and because of recent legislative mandates like Response to Instruction (RtI), Crossing Xtreme provides a “tier three intervention” to help young men achieve success in areas, where previously, frustration was the norm.

Our Philosophy: At Crossing Xtreme our favorite slogan—a slogan we constantly model is “We Learn by Doing.” Teachers exhort students to internalize the concept: We don’t fail . . . We only successfully identify what doesn’t work, change our focus, and keep trying. Over time, this teaching and learning approach enables students to build lasting confidence in their new found skills and abilities. Moreover, faith-based character education helps develop a moral compass to guide students as they are transformed into men—men that have a desire to take ownership over their lives as they successfully complete school and enter the fulltime workforce. |
